Teacher Mwaka joined us midway through 2018 as teacher for our junior class. Mwaka completed her course in Early Childhood Education in 2014 at Mosi-oa-Tunya College of Education. She decided to study in this field because she wanted to be in a position to support the personal, academic and social development of children.
Mwaka came to us with a huge amount of knowledge, experience and passion for teaching children. She puts a lot of effort into creating exciting, visual lessons that will engage younger minds with shorter attention spans. You’ll find Mwaka greeting our kids as they arrive at school in the morning; leading songs and games during circle time and creating fun activities for art class. She loves to use lots of colours, props and toys to help her students learn.
Mwaka has a lot of love and energy for her class, and we love her enthusiasm for teaching and for Baobuyu!
I love working at Baobuyu Learning Center because the school has a teacher to student ratio that I think really allows for personalised education. Small classroom sizes make it possible for me to give each child the one-on-one attention they deserve.
