Zambia has one of the poorest education systems in the world: going to school is a luxury not everyone can afford.
Yet education is the best way to disrupt the poverty cycle – through education, we can transform our families and communities for the better!
Our Sponsor a Child program provides the opportunity for vulnerable children in the community to attend preschool, but the program can only be a success with your support! We would eventually love to have each child sponsored to take the burden off our parents/caregivers and to encourage children to not miss school.
By sponsoring a child, you are providing them with everything they need for the school year. The sponsorship cost per child is US$450 per year. This includes their school fee, uniform, books, a daily healthy meal, teachers, security, water, electricity, computer literacy and endless learning resources. You will receive regular updates on your sponsored child’s progress and achievements.

“I’m so blessed to have received sponsorship for my daughter at Baobuyu, as it has allowed her to have the best education that I could every imagine.”
– Memory, Lydia’s mother

“It’s honestly the thing I’m most proud of in my life. It’s definitely the best $450 I spend all year because I know how much of a direct impact it’s having on the school, and on Memory and Lydia.”
– Tena, Lydia’s sponsor
“Today I woke up with gratitude in my heart. My child is counting numbers, singing songs and doing a lot of new things. I am a proud mother because of what my child has become. Thank you for giving my child a chance. Thank you for the love. May God bless your generosity. I can’t thank you enough.”
– Libonga, Evelyn’s mother

“It is a great privilege to see my son in pre-school. Before, he’d spend the day alone at home with grandma. I am proud to see him grow and thrive in a school environment. My hope is that other parents in the community experience the love at Baobuyu and to feel what I feel.”
– Rebecca, Royalty’s mother
“I see the improvement in my child. He knows how to play, share things with others, and the importance of healthy eating at his small age. I thank the sponsorship we are given at Baobuyu. The teacher’s skills help the students master the things they need to learn.”
– Lister, Gift’s mother

“Baobuyu Learning Center is a great school. My child is learning how to read and write and so much more. I say thank you to the teachers for helping my child improve in so many ways, and to the sponsors for supporting me and my child.”
– Juliet, Mwizabi’s mother
